I improvise a switch ( ≒ whip ) consisting of a bundle of twigs from a birch tree.

私は即興で、樺の木の枝の束から成る鞭 ( むち ) を作った。

{ ここでのswitchは、「しなやかな鞭」の意味 }

' Grrrrrr....... '

「グルルルルルル」

I sensed somebody approaching.

何者かが近付くのを感じた。

There's some sort of monster.

何らかの怪物がいる。

Somebody used his keen nose to sniff [ferret] out me.

何者かが、その鋭い鼻で私の事を嗅ぎ付けた。

The ominous sign is increasing by insensible degrees.

不気味な気配が極めて徐々に増してきている。

I think that is hard to create a diversion.

隙を作るのは難しそうだ。
