私「それはともかく、あんたは リ・スポーン ( 生まれ変わり ) の事を知っているか ?」

He said ' I don't know, absolutely. '　彼「いや、全く知らん。」

I said ' Do you know red-colored egg ? '　私「赤い卵の事は ?」

He said ' Well,... Is that Easter eggs ?　彼「ええっと、 イースターエッグ ( 復活祭で出される着色された卵 ) の事か ? 」

' N-no it's not that ... I mean... ' I mumbled out the rest.　「いやいや、つまりそのお・・・」その後、私は口ごもった。

He said ' What is the meaning of that question ? '　彼「質問の意味は何だ ? 」

I said ' Black egg... which you mentioned earlier, besides,...　私「黒い卵・・　さっき、あんたが話してた件、さらに ・・・

I inferred by analogy from other color eggs.'　他の色の卵はどうなのかなと類推したんだ。

I gave irrelevant answers to his questions.　私は取るに足りない返事をした。

' Do you have anything else ? '　「他に何かあるかね ?」

I said ' Well....I don't have any more... '　私「うーん、それ以上の事は何も・・。」

He changed his attitude towards me.　彼は私への態度を変えた。

The presumption is that he thought I was very suspicious.　察する所、彼は私を胡散臭く ( 怪しく ) 思ったらしい。

Soon afterward, he turned away from me.　その後すぐに、彼は私から離れていった。
